Some Free Perks of Life

When I was a teenager, I enjoy counting the stars during the cold summer nights along the shore. My adolescent life is filled with the joys of new found friends and adventures. However, as years add on, I started to work and those perks of life started to look mundane for a professional like me. I begin to aspire the never ending approval of my superiors and the continuous claps of my co-workers. My life began to be stressful since I always long to be highly regarded by the people around me. I no longer feel happy and the days started to drag. Until I realize that life can always be a bed of roses, depending on where you place your source of joy.

Laughter of a Child

Sharing jokes with your co-workers definitely cheers you up during your monotonous daily routine but there is a certain kind of delight when you try to talk to a child. Their questions and stories are so unbiased and pure that it creates a peaceful kind of gladness in your heart. Listening to them reveals how polluted and corrupted our mind has been to the simple beauties and joys in life. They are truly delighted when we give them ice cream as compared to us who has been give a whole bucket and still think that the world is holding back something from us.

Wisdom of the Aged

I believe another perks of life is the wisdom that your get from people older than you like your parents or grandparents. Most people shy away from conversing to the aged or old people. We think that it is a waste of time hearing their nonstop, never changing stories of old, but not me. I take pleasure in talking to them. I love to hear where they have hidden from soldiers during the world war, the value of money that time and songs that were often sung with their guitar or harmonica. I believe there is wisdom in their words that can never be experienced by the people of our generation. I often hear them share profound ideologies that if applied now will cause an eradication of corruption and fraud. The countless gray hair on their head just states their insightful understanding of life seems to tell us that they may have been there and most probably have already done that.

Coffee Talks

The last simple joys of life I could recount at the top of my head is coffee talks that discloses some side of you that you often don't share to other people. The times when you talked with your friends, cousins, sibling or even parents over a cup of coffee will surely be a significant part of your memories. A brewed coffee or a green coffee bean extract (so as to reduce the pounds!) shared during in this season of your life will probably be the best and most flavorful coffee you have ever tasted.

Life is a series of ups and downs. It is how we view it that will determine its future and end.
